As a psychotherapist and addiction specialist, Dr. Tuell provides clinical mental health and addiction counseling services to a wide variety of treatment populations. He is a key contributor to the development and implementation of the dual diagnosis treatment program for residential and intensive outpatient services at the Lindner Center of HOPE.
Prior to joining the Lindner Center of HOPE, Dr. Tuell served as Center Director and Director of Employee Assistance Programs for Family Service of the Cincinnati Area. For ten years he provided supervision of all administrative and clinical components of a mental health/substance abuse counseling center. In other experience, Dr. Tuell served as Clinical Director of the Warren County Juvenile Justice Center and Mental Health Therapist for Community Mental Health Centers of Warren County in Lebanon, Ohio and Mental Health Services West in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Dr. Tuell has presented on various topics at several state conferences and has given numerous academic presentations as guest lecturer for several universities and organizations. Dr. Tuell is also in his sixth year as a federal grant reviewer for the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Dr. Tuell has specialized training in sexual addiction, gambling addiction and Internet addiction assessment and treatment, in addition to critical incident debriefing.
