Dallas G. Auvil, M.D.

Dr. Auvil has worked in the field of psychiatry since 1992, having worked in medicine since 1988. He began his career in a United States Naval Hospital serving as Department Head of Emergency Room, providing direct patient care to emergency room and sick patients. He moved on to serve as Staff Psychiatrist at a United States Naval Hospital in Puerto Rico then assumed the same title at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. His clinical duties while at Good Samaritan included treatment of patients in acute outpatient day treatment, inpatient and consultation-liaison settings. His administrative duties involved the development of an integrated care delivery system and he served as psychiatric consultant to Healing Arts, Sports Medicine, and Bioethics Committees.
For six years Dr. Auvil served as Medical Director for a free standing eating disorder and mental health center, simultaneously providing care to patients through his private psychiatric practice. His clinical activities have included treating outpatients, inpatients, nursing home patients, patients in a consultation-liaison setting, and electroconvulsive therapy.
Among some awards Dr. Auvil has received a National Defense Medal, an Overseas Service Ribbon and a Navy Achievement Medal. He was also named a Top Doctor by Cincinnati Magazine in 2007. Dr. Auvil is currently a member of The Association for Convulsive Therapy.
