Leah Casuto, M.D.

Dr. Casuto is a member of the adolescent treatment team, though she works with patients of all ages. A portion of her time is devoted to research, as she is developing an adolescent research program. Her areas of specialty include bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety spectrum disorders like separation anxiety.

For more than 16 years Dr. Casuto has practiced psychiatry. In addition to serving patients and families in treatment settings, she has also served as a researcher and teacher in the field. She has extensive experience in community mental health serving as a staff psychiatrist for a number of facilities in Greater Cincinnati. Early in her career, Dr. Casuto worked at three homeless shelters and spent time providing services to the underserved. She also has an interest in treating artists managing their mood symptoms without compromising their creativity or productivity. Prior to joining the Lindner Center of HOPE, Dr. Casuto focused on child, adolescent and adult therapy and psychopharmacology as an independent practitioner in a private practice. 

As a researcher Dr. Casuto has worked as co-investigator on studies examining treatment of compulsive shopping and treatment of binge eating disorder. In addition, she served as co-investigator on a prospective study of children at high risk of bipolar disorder. 

Dr. Casuto has co-authored several journal articles. She is affiliated with the American Psychiatric Association and formerly served as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Casuto received the Psychiatry Resident Teaching Award at the University of Cincinnati. She also received the Employee Support Award and Excellence of Service Award for her work as part of a team of providers in Pendleton County, Kentucky after a flood struck the community.
