Sherry Knapp-Brown, Ph.D.

Dr. Knapp-Brown has 25 years of experience in behavioral health organizations and is a licensed Ph.D. psychologist with specialty certification and training in chemical dependency, co-occurring psychiatric disorders, dialectical behavior therapy, and healthcare management.
Prior to joining the Lindner Center of HOPE, Dr. Knapp-Brown served as Assessment Specialist for Butler County Children Services in Hamilton, Ohio where she conducted clinical assessments of individuals and families and developed a referral and assessment tracking process for a federal grant funded project. Dr. Knapp-Brown’s additional experience includes serving as Chief Executive Officer for Hamilton County Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board in Cincinnati, Ohio; Associate Director of Health for Substance Abuse for the Rhode Island Department of Health in Providence, Rhode Island; Vice President for Clinical Operations for The Stevens Center in Carlisle, Pennsylvania; Assistant Director for Adolescent Services, The NORCAP Center Neponset Valley Health Systems in Norfolk, Massachusetts; Director of Community Support Services for Community Counseling Center in Pawtucket, Rhode Island; Director of Addiction Services for Marlborough Hospital in Marlborough, Massachusetts; and Staff Psychologist at Butler Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island.
Dr. Knapp-Brown is a published expert in her field and is very involved in professional activities. Her previous and current professional activities include serving on the Professional and Technical Advisory Committee for Behavioral Health Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), the Ohio Governor’s Council on Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services, Ohio Psychological Association Colleague Assistance Committee and an extensive list of others.
Dr. Knapp-Brown was a participant in Leadership Cincinnati in 2004-2005 through the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber of Commerce. Her other recognitions include being named a fellow for the American College of Healthcare Executives and for the Association of Behavioral Healthcare Management, and receiving the Harold Piepenbrink award from the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare for her contributions to the behavioral healthcare field.
