Touchdown for HOPE Scores
Major Awareness & Support

Harold C. Schott Foundation Eating Disorders Program receives generous support from community

The Champions Club at Great American Ball Park was the setting for the second annual Super Bowl Sunday, Touchdown for HOPE event.  Originally conceived in 2010 by Scott Robertson, Carl Satterwaite and John Ryan, this annual event, with host Anthony Munoz, raised over $120,000 for the Center’s Harold C. Schott Foundation Eating Disorders program.

“The study and treatment of eating disorders is extremely complex,” said Dr. Paul E. Keck, Jr., CEO of Lindner Center of HOPE .  “It’s a devastating illness and in spite of the unprecedented growth of eating disorders in the past two decades, research continues to be under-funded, insurance coverage for treatment is inadequate, societal pressures to be thin remain rampant and obesity is an epidemic.”

The good news is that research shows eating disorders can be effectively treated in psychiatric inpatient, outpatient and residential programs.  “Of the patients who entered Lindner Center of HOPE for treatment of an eating disorder, 70 percent did not need to be readmitted for additional treatment,” said Dr. Keck.

Raising funds through Touchdown for HOPE assures the continued excellence in service delivery provided by the Harold C. Schott Eating Disorders Program at Lindner Center of HOPE.

In 2011, Touchdown for HOPE supported the The Harold C. Schott Eating Disorders Program at Lindner Center of HOPE.

Why this is important:
  • Eating disorders can be difficult to treat, but research shows that eating disorders can be effectively treated in psychiatric, inpatient settings and in residential programs.
  • Patients at Lindner Center of HOPE are experiencing results. Of the patients who entered Lindner Center of HOPE for treatment for an eating disorder, 69% did not need to be readmitted for additional treatment.
  • Lindner Center of HOPE offers a disciplined approach to eating disorder treatment that combines psychiatric management, psychotherapy, and family engagement throughout the entire process. Board certified clinicians offer the wisdom, compassion and know-how to successfully treat the complex illnesses that are eating disorders, returning patients, and their loved ones, to more fulfilling lives.
  •  Lindner Center of HOPE is saving lives!
