Eating Disorders

Lindner Center of HOPE’s Eating Disorders program addresses the needs of women and men, ages 13 and older. The program serves persons with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, night eating and exercise disorders that may also be complicated by:
  • Depression or Bipolar Disorder
  • Anxiety Disorder
  • Substance Abuse
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Psychosis
  • Trauma
  • Mild to moderate Obsessive-Compulsive behavior
Typical patients in this program have lived with eating disorders for a number of years, have not been successful in treatment, experience dual disorders, or seek early intervention.

Treatment Philosophy:

The objective of the Lindner Center of HOPE’s treatment of eating disorders is to help patients understand and take ownership of their eating disorder symptoms, weight, and exercise level, moving them to a more healthy lifestyle. Addressing the patient’s eating disorder, related medical problems and any coexisting psychiatric disorders is the first step.

Through a deliberate and thorough treatment process, a patient’s biological, psychological, and spiritual needs are addressed. The patient and family are provided a curriculum to help them understand and navigate the illness on their own.
